howdy friends and happy friday! 🤠ooh this actually snuck up on me...this week went by super quickly. i’m excited about this newsletter club and even more excited that i have a reason to write “friday fives” again. here’s what i’ve been up to: five things i loved this week: quick pasta and chickpeas, smitten kitchen (i’ve made this a handful of times; it’s easy, it has like five ingredients, and it’s delicious every single time)
tiger king on netflix (kevin and i watched the whole season this week and literally what...the actual fuck? this may be the craziest thing i’ve ever watched, and i think the thing that makes it so powerful is the storytelling—the use of unreliable narration and the way the filmmakers framed it is just...excellent. everyone starts out quirky but relatively harmless and ends up being absolutely insane. also, this guy’s take 👏)
this little cartoon about filling extra time from the wonderful chanel miller that i got from one of my favorite newsletters, girls’ night in (if you haven’t read know my name, it should be at the very top of your reading list; she’s an incredible storyteller and her instagram is full of these cute little doodles!)
five things i read this week: domestic cozy: 1, ribbonfarm (qotd: “unsurprisingly, it takes its cues from the marginal shadow behaviors of premium mediocrity. It finds its best expression in privacy, among friends, rather than in public, among strangers. it prioritizes the needs of the actor rather than the expectations of the spectator.”)
